I have been working on the line of David Herrin, Rev. War Vet. from White Co., TN. I have placed many of his children and may be forced to say I was wrong about Richard's parentage. I have him as the son of Edward and Maryan Herrin, hence a brother to Daniel and Shadrack. However, two things place him close to David: 1) He lived with John Dowell when he was a child in Stokes CO., NC and the Dowells were from Albemarle CO., VA as was David Herrin and 2) Richard was adjacent to William Herrin in the 1820 White CO., TN and William was the son of David. But there were two WIlliams of that generation... one was the son of David and the other's lineage is unknown. I have to work on that. Also, I need to look at the line of Stephen H. Herring. His first wife was Sarah Bush and his second Sarah Dickens, d/o Henry Dickens. Stephen was suely of the NC Herrings. What was he doing right there in the same area with the Herrins of Albemarle?
