Stan Herrin and Jean Clinkscales:
Upon leaving Kings Creek in Caldwell County I took photos of Kings Creek Church, Herring Ridge (Harrison Camp) and Kings Creek area itself.
I went on to Davie County where I took photos of Bear Creek Church and Cemetery where Shadrack and Rebecca were charter members in 1792. Shadrack lived somewhere on Hunting Creek right on the Iredell County Border. I took a photo of the creek.
From there I went to Salisbury and visited the library. I got some more info which I will comment on which I will use arrows, >>>>>:

<<<<<<< This coincides with when Edward left Wake County. I have put out a plea on Wake's list for Herrins in Wake Co. Tax Lists from 1777 to 1796. I want to see when Sarah left as well. Rowan has very incomplete tax records.>>>>>>

This is the first time I see Shadrack Herrin and Edward Herrin on any list together, although I knew they were in the county the same time. This, along with friends and relatives is enough to certainly place Edward as Shadrack's father. Finally! >>>>>>>

<<<<<<< Daniel probably came to the age of maturity in 1794 which would place his birth ca 1773 or 1774. That means he was likely born in Orange County, North Carolina since Wake was formed in 1777. I'll figure that out later. This tax year also coincides with him not being in Rowan County.>>>>>>

<<<<<<< Daniel sold to "Sary" without making a profit. I take this to be Sarah Motley Herrin. Harrison Motley was in neighboring Ashe County and died in Monroe County, Indiana where his Herrin family resided. Motley's were alos in Montgomery Co., KY with Sarah. arah had married Edward Herrin (Junior) in Wake Co. in 1792. I need to see the tax lists there to see when he died). >>>>>>

<<<<<<< You can see that the sell was made legal years after Sarah moved to Kentucky. The description sounds like the bulk of the land that belonged to Daniel Herrin, but why did she sell it so cheaply... I don't have a copy, but she sold the other 50 acres to Joshua Storey. I'll check further on that. >>>>>>>
