| Walking to school - Deborah Berry - Aug 17, 2007 | [Print] |
| As I was growing up and the age came around when I thought that my mom and dad should of bought me a car to go to school so that I wouldn't have to ride the school bus. It never failed as I was complaining about this situation my dad would tell me that I should be happy that there was a bus to take me to school. Because when he was a kid he had to walk five miles to school and five miles back home. Now if walking that far to and from school wasn't bad enough you would have to also realize that those walks were in winter in the snow with holes in his shoes and uphill both ways. I'm almost sure that my dad wasn't the only one who told that story. But that is the one that sticks in my mind the most. Use to make me mad now I look back on it and have to chuckle at it.
